The Firm’s History In The Community

James R. Beaver, a native of Rensselaer, attended college and law school at Indiana University, in Bloomington, Indiana. After graduating law school with the Class of 1968, Mr. Beaver worked on the congressional campaign of Earl Landgrebe. Mr. Landgrebe had sought election to the congressional seat that was vacated by the retirement of the renowned Rep. Charles A. “Charlie” Halleck, also a Rensselaer native and who served as the Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney prior to serving 34 years on Capitol Hill. The Landgrebe campaign was successful, and Mr. Landgrebe was elected to the House of Representatives. James R. Beaver was hired to serve as Rep. Landgrebe’s chief of staff in Washington D.C.
